Voyage: Dispersal and Convergence

“As a woman, I have no country. As a woman, my country is the whole world.” Virginia Woolf

In her book, "Travelers Women", the Brazilian historian Norma Telles says that the term Voyage was used, since the 17th century, to designate both displacements of various types as well as the narrative of these experiences. Considering that there have always been women who yearned for set out, and did so, this serie focuses on recording the itineraries of the long journeys traveled by these group of women, whose power is the will of action. Nomadism, here, is seen as a strategy to escape from the homogenizing identity processes. The dispersion as referred to in the project is the displacement, the creation of journeys and expeditions. The convergence, in turn, occurs in the desire to create new spaces, in the experiences of exchanges, and in the reinventions of themselves.
